I am a soulless being, dirfting in a sea of education....

I am a soulless being, drifting in a sea of education. After this week, I am dead to the world. My brain is fried and I can't properly function. And on that note, my nasty week is looking like it will extend itself into most of next week too. Ugg. Any ways, I thought I should update and tell everyone that I will be back. So tune in next week viewers!

Promise kept

Ok, so I promised Mary that I would put these pictures up. :) Here they are. I was told that you can dye easter eggs with tea and though it would be a really cool idea. So, I bought a whole bunch of teas and a bunch of eggs and decided to try it out. My findings were that black tea works the best and that you can really only get one good dye out of a cup. :) It was fun though, and my house smelled like tea that afternoon.

Other than that, not a whole lot has been happening. I have a huge term paper due on Tuesday and I am going away for the weekend... I'm really hoping that I'll get it done on time.

More skiing pictures

Here are the rest of the skiing pictures, as promised!
Here's me before the lesson.

They boys after a hard day's sliding! :)

Here's my Dad and me while cross country skiing. It was so much fun (except for the downhill parts). I think I prefer this to downhill skiing.

Dad's goofy grin

This was the beginning of a steep climb. It was so pretty though.

Here's a picture from the top of that climb. It was snowing just a little bit and was breath taking.

Same place, slightly different angle, still breath taking.

I'm back!

Alright, I know I've been MIA lately, but I went on spring break and am having trouble adjusting to real life again! :) I went to visit my parents in Utah. Little Brother came with me and we had a great time. It was so nice to be most of my family (I'm sorry you weren't able to be there Megan, it would've been perfect!!) and good to see my mom and dad again.

One of the reasons for the trip was to go skiing! Last Friday, Dad, Little Brother and I went up to Brighton to ski. We all took a lesson (more for my sanity and Little Brother's safety) and we all made it out unscathed! It was a lot of fun! Little Brother is fearless! He was blazing down the mountain! Dad and I were a little more cautious in our trips down the mountain. I was snow plowing the entire way down the mountain. I did not trust myself to come down any other way! I am proud to report that I only fell down three times, and each of those times was because I intentionally fell. I'm very proud and now that I've overcome this hurdle, I don't know if I'll ever go back. :P

Here's Little Brother and Dad waiting for the lesson.

We are soooooooo cool!

Little Brother needed a break. What a convenient snow bank!

Dad, you're so awesome!

Dad and Little Brother always left me to sit on the lift by myself. *gosh*

The next day, Dad and I went up to Sundance and went cross-country skiing. Again, thank you Susan for the passes! We had so much fun! It was a beautiful day, and it was snowing just a little bit. It was a little bit harder than I thought it would be, but it was really nice. The only part I didn't really enjoy were the downhill parts. The boots were more flexible and so I wasn't quite as steady as I could've been. But, we still had fun.

I also got to spend some time with Susan, Bryce, Daniel and Oliver. I can't believe how BIG Oliver is! He even started crawling while I was there! I'd like to believe it was loving influence that promoted it... :) It was nice to see Daniel too, although he kept mostly to himself. I think it might've been because he was complaining of pain in his face and legs. I hope the doctors can figure out what's causing it.

Well, Matt is unhappy that I'm uploading a bunch of pictures and slowing down his game, so I'll add more pictures later! Well, it's off to bed!

Baksetball game

Alright, so I thought I was done, but I'm not! :) Yesterday I went to the State v. Duke basketball game. It was a lot of fun! I went with Shelly, a friend from school who is also a nutrition major. We're taking a lot of classes together and she's really sweet! We started off the morning with a pancake breakfast with her and the other guys and girl coming with us to the game. Afterwards, we piled into one of their trucks and headed to the game. It was so much fun! It was my first basketball game as a student! We had pretty good seats down on the floor. The only stinky part was that it was behind the post, so it was hard to see some of the action. Here's Shelly trying to snag a picture of her favorite player, Ben McCauley (she calls him boyfriend!)
Here's me with Shelly before the game

And here's a shot of our group. Go wolfpack!

It was so much fun! I don't think I've ever screamed and jumped so much in my life! We were winning for almost the entire game, but in the last 5 minutes we made some fouls and they beat us. It was so disappointing! I've decided that I like basketball and will make an effort to go to more games next season. Go pack!!

We're trying the blog thing!

Hello all! We've decided to enter the blogging world in an effort to keep everyone up to date on the goings on in our lives. So here it goes!

Matt has been bouncing back and forth from business trips lately. He went to England for a week for a manager's meeting and was able to spend some time in London. His first comment about it was "The food was bland." I thought this particularly funny because Matthew is the king of bland food. I always have to reduce the amount of spices in almost everything. So, for him to say the food was bland there, well, it would be have to be pretty darn bland! This past week, he was in Florida for a conference with a friend from work. He had a blast. The highlight of his trip was the indoor skydiving wind tunnel. I am *SO* jealous! I think skydiving would be cool, except I have this thing about falling and heights, so the indoor wind tunnel has always been something I've wanted to do. He had some down time, so he went. He had so much fun! He took some pictures and even bought the video.

I'm not sure where the video is, but when I get my hands on it, I'll be sure to put it up here if I can! There's a Skyventure facility here in NC near Fort Bragg. I am going to insist on going sometime in the near future!!

I am headed out to Utah for spring break this week. I'm really excited to get to spend some time with my Mom and Dad out there. Little brother is coming too, so it'll be really nice! I think that my dad, my brother and I are going to try to go skiing while we're there. I hope it's nice and the snow is good and that I don't hurt myself again! Any way, I just really glad that spring break is here, although it feels like the semester just started. I survived midterms and am looking forward to the week sort-of-off. :) I'll be sure to take lots of pictures of my parent's new kitchen and of our time there. I'm so excited! Here's looking forward to a great week!
